PREPARING OUR HEARTS FOR WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsively):

LEADER: O Lord God, you are very great.  You stretch out the heavens like a tent; you set the beams of your chambers upon the waters.

CONGREGATION: You set the earth on its foundations so that it shall never be shaken.

LEADER: You make the streams gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills.

CONGREGATION: You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for people to use.

LEADER: O Lord, how manifold are your works!  In wisdom you made them all.

ALL: Bless the Lord, O my soul.  Praise the Lord!

PRAISE HYMN:  “You Are My King” [insert]

PRAYER OF CONFESSION: Merciful God, by whose word we are created and by whose love we are redeemed: we confess to our sin.  We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves.  Forgive our sin.  Free us from the chains of selfishness and greed that bind us and rob us of true joy.  Cleanse us by your mercy that we may love you, serve you, and find in your service our deepest joy.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray.  Amen.
