PREPARING OUR HEARTS FOR WORSHIP

CALL TO WORSHIP: from 2 Cor. 1:3-11, Isaiah 40:27-31

LEADER: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and the God of all consolation.

CONGREGATION: God consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are also afflicted.

LEADER: Our way is not hidden from the Lord; he gives power to the faint and strengthens the powerless.

ALL: Those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Passing the Peace of Christ

PRAISE HYMN: “You Are My King”

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison): Merciful God, by whose word we are created and by whose love we are redeemed: we confess to our sin.  We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves.  Forgive our sin.  Free us from the chains of selfishness and greed that bind us and rob us of true joy.  Cleanse us by your mercy that we may love you, serve you, and find in your service our deepest joy.  In the name of Jesus Christ we pray.  Amen.
