OUR HEARTS FOR WORSHIP
CALL
TO WORSHIP (Responsively):
LEADER:
O God! How great You are! On the first day of the week we commemorate Your
creation of the world and all that is in it.
CONGREGATION:
Thank You for the light which wakes us morning by morning, and for that greater
light which shines in Jesus Christ.
LEADER:
O God! How great You are! On the first day of the week You raised Jesus from
the dead.
CONGREGATION:
Raise us with Him to a new quality of faith and life.
LEADER: O God! How great You
are! Again on the first day of the week You sent Your spirit on Your disciples.
CONGREGATION:
Do not deprive us of Your Spirit, but renew Him in us day by day.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
(Unison): Almighty God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought,
word, and deed. We have followed our own
way and not sought after you. Have mercy
upon us, we pray. Forgive our
disobedience and ingratitude, remove our pride and help us to follow you each
day. Help us to live according to your
law of love that we might know the abundance of life to which we are called,
and rejoice in the grace by which we are saved.
Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
